I have done this activity myself in my own community with similar results. Our league even did a huge media campaign to help educate people about Credit Unions, with minimal change. <br/> <br/> So, okay let's say we admit there is a problem...how do you we really fix this? Million Dollar media campaigns don't seem to work. Yet this question keeps coming back. <br/> <br/>This one of the reasons our tax-exemption will be lost one day, because nobody gets what we do and they can't defend what they don't understand.

Is it really accurate for CUNA's economist to say credit unions in California, Florida, Nevada and Arizona are suffering through "no fault of their own?" Really? These struggling credit unions didn't stretch themselves too thin by making riskier loans than their peers? There are perfectly healthy CUs in each of the four "sand states," and in almost every instance, these credit unions are thriving because of the prudent decisions they've made vs. "no fault of their own."

These are a good list of goals. The biggest one is making the goals realistic and communicating well the goals of the incentive plan. In regards to a payout, it's good not to restrict only to a cash-basis. Using a noncash reward or even merchandise can enhance the perceived trophy value of the award for relatively the same cost. Too often cash gets confused in the mind for normal compensation, therefore the award aspect diminishes
