Hello all. My name is John Wiley and I am pleased to introduce myself as the new publisher of Credit Union Magazine.
Some of you may recognize me, as I have been involved with the credit union movement for more than 12 years. I join CUNA with a background in advertising consulting, sales, development, and management in both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer environments.
Most recently, I was the advertising sales manager for Credit Union Times, where I helped many service providers manage their campaigns and create new programs to support the awareness of innovative, younger credit union leaders—the future of our industry.
During my first few busy few weeks at CUNA—getting up to speed on all the programs we offer both credit unions and service providers—I have been in awe of the dedication of those I have come in contact with, either face-to-face or electronically.
Completing my Credit Union Development Education (CUDE) training about four years ago, I was impressed by the dedication of my classmates. Having met more current and future DEs in the halls of CUNA, and the huge pool of talent that makes this association tick, I am honored to work with such an incredible team.
One of my prime objectives is to ensure the timely delivery of important information and news that will keep the credit union movement moving forward—and forward-thinking. The success of Credit Union Magazine and its website hinges on its readers, both from credit unions and service providers.
It is our mission to spark ideas, seize opportunities, build excellence, and drive growth. With that in mind, we will reach out to the industry innovators who can help you use technology and services to enhance the member experience.
As the flagship publication for CUNA—the nation’s leading credit union trade association—we truly have the interests of the credit union movement’s future in mind.
We’re committed to providing forward-thinking editorial that not only reports on what is happening in the industry, but offers thought-provoking, compelling content to help credit unions position themselves for the future:
- What is the future of payments?
- Where will credit unions shake out in the mobile world?
- How will we attract the next generation of members?
- When will credit unions finally get the recognition they deserve from Capitol Hill?
Thank you for your continued support. Together, our excellent editorial staff, member credit unions, and vendor partners will work together to keep this movement looking ahead.
I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly.
JOHN WILEY, CUDE, is Credit Union Magazine’s publisher.
