Guard Against Network Downtime

Cavion Plus, Mounds View, Minn., has announced a new product that enhances the reliability of the Internet and private network connection between the company’s world-class data center in Denver and its credit union clients.

The new ISDN Redundancy delivers "an additional layer of protection to ensure credit unions and their members will have access to their accounts and other financial information," notes Jeff Marshall, Cavion Plus’ chief technology officer. "Cavion Plus is committed to supplying the highest levels of connectivity uptime in the industry."

A recent audit of the Cavion Plus frame relay network produced a 99.9% percent uptime score. However, as good as the Cavion Plus connectivity solutions are, there are rare occasions where a primary circuit fails. To protect against these situations, ISDN Redundancy circumvents the primary circuit via the ISDN voice network, ensuring continuity of service.

In fact, in most cases, customers won’t realize anything is wrong because the product is completely automated. "The product is designed to automatically reroute network traffic in the event of a primary circuit failure and then revert the traffic back when the primary circuit again is operational," says Nathan Coltvet, Cavion Plus product manager.
