CUNA Enhances Online Personal Finance Offerings

CUNA enhanced several of its online products to provide members with more tools to learn about personal finance issues:
- Anytime Adviser, theonline interactive financial education series for consumers, is adding Spanish-languageversions of its coaches to the subscription package for credit unions. Topics for thecustomizable coaches include identity theft, new car buying, used car buying, home buying,checking account coach, and credit management.Currently, the checking account and home buying coaches are live in Spanish. The others arescheduled to go live within the next few months.The Anytime Adviser subscription soon will feature a new coach about 'couples and money.'The coach will offer strategies and advice to help couples with one of the most common sourcesof contention in relationships.
- The Home & Family Finance Resource Centerhas added videos to its opening page to provide members with brief, informative messages on anumber of popular personal finance topics. New video content will be added monthly and coverinformation on credit cards on campus, cars and interest rates, buying a house, directdeposit/payroll deduction, individual retirement accounts, credit counseling, and more. Justlike the rest of the center, the automatically updated information was written and designedspecifically for credit unions and their members.
- Googolplex: The CU Guide for StudentMoneymakers offers short videos from C-Note University Host Clare, as she delivers pertinent'life lessons' in the Financial Boot Camp link. She addresses monthly messages to her peer groupon handling stress and getting the most from competition, how to make time for what you trulyvalue in the game of life, and the rewards of self employment.
- Guides to Independence,CUNA's interactive Web-based money management tutorials, now reward teenage and young adultmembers with free music downloads for improving their financial literacy. Upon completion ofa course, qualified registrants earn a minimum of one free iTunes music download, with achance to earn random bonus downloads for simply completing one short course.
These hands-on courses use games, simulations, and quizzes to provide an entertaining, yet informative way to learn essential financial lessons in a variety of subjects. Current guides give advice on how-to start and balance a checking account, achieve financial goals, get a loan, buy a used car, use a check card, shop for everyday savings, build short-term savings, manage debt, budget income, and budget expenses.
